Challenges
Error Prevention:
One of our biggest concerns was the potential for user mistakes and the significant impact these errors could have on the system. Given the complexity of the tasks users needed to perform, there was a real risk of errors occurring, which could lead to costly consequences. We recognized that simply detecting and correcting mistakes after they happened would not be sufficient to mitigate these risks.
Solution:
After analyzing the workflows and processes of our users, we realized that the best approach was to prevent mistakes from happening in the first place. Since the entries in the lists were based on a very specific column schema, we focused on enhancing our documentation and implementing robust validation mechanisms for each cell. This proactive approach ensured that users were guided to input correct data from the start, effectively reducing the likelihood of errors and minimizing the need for post-error correction.

Results
The List Manager feature received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both users and stakeholders. Its balance between simplicity and advanced functionality made it a versatile tool that catered to a wide range of user needs. Users appreciated the ease of managing their lists, while advanced users valued the additional features that empowered them without overwhelming the interface.
By delivering a solution that addressed different user levels and maintaining a consistent, intuitive design, the List Manager became an essential part of the platform. It allowed users to confidently handle both routine tasks and more complex scenarios with ease.
I also had the opportunity to present the new List Manager to clients alongside our pre-sales team on two occasions. They were impressed by the significant improvements compared to previous versions of the system, which had limited capabilities and did not allow many of these actions to be made.
